Joss Whedon has created some of my absolute favorite television characters EVER (Namely Spike, pre-druggy-magic Willow and every single character in Firefly).

Unfortunately, his idea of "substance" in entertainment seems to be taking these delightful characters and torturing them like a sociopathic child with his neighor's kitten. But other than that, he writes some really witty dialog.

Now he's doing this thing:



It's a streaming video musical with Nathan Fillion and Neil Patrick Harris in three parts that will appear July 15, 17, and 19, and then they all go away at midnight on July 20, after which you need to pony up some dough to see them.

It looks to be pretty amusing (and that musical episode of Buffy was one of the best ever, even in the middle of a DISMAL season), and I doubt he'll have enough time to ruin these new characters' lives.
